Spanish Dance Flamenco Singapore Classes

This September, Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay brings us their annual da:ns festival as well as Footwork, a series of sampler dance workshops. We’re happy to conducting four of these Spanish Dance and Flamenco workshops this year!

If you have always been wanting to try out some dance moves but don’t yet want to plunge into the sea of commitment (yet), then these once-off sessions are perfect for you to dip your toes and have a feel of the waters.

I’m looking forward to conducting the Footwork workshops. Two of them will focus on a slice of Flamenco choreography. There are two new ones:

  • Spanish Dance for Relaxation, and
  • Flamenco for Strength.

Let me tell you more about the new workshops.

Oftentimes, people might think of Spanish Dance in the image of flamenco, and as a high energy, intense dance.

But did you know that there are many other styles of Spanish Dances (dances from Spain)?

For example, Classical Spanish Dance, which is danced to the compositions of well-known composers and played by orchestras and ensembles.

In my Spanish Dance for Relaxation class, you’ll get to know and feel the beauty of these classics. And learn to dance with a Spanish fan too! I’ll be providing the fans, but you can bring yours if you wish.

Meanwhile in my other new dance workshop, Flamenco for Strength, this is where you can explore how to move with confidence and gain body awareness to present yourself too.

If you’re curious, come join me, Tania.
