Reporting from Spain 🇪🇸😄 Where to catch flamenco in Sevilla: Here’s one tablao (live flamenco venue) - @lacasadelflamenco. It’s right in the barrio of Santa Cruz, near the Cathedral.
This place has been here since my first year learning flamenco here! It’s weathered the pandemic, glad for them!
Then, I was a student and could get student prices (€17 now). This time, I pay for an Adult ticket (€22). It’s a 1-hour show. The rates here are more economical than in Madrid tablaos (€39). Some tablaos offer light tapas as well.
It’s an impromptu trip. I was in the area and thought I’d check out who was performing.
@miguelperezguitarra (guitar) played for our classes at the Academia de Manuel Betanzos so I know he’s an amazing accompanist-guitarist to catch, and is a composer of his music.
@gema_moneo is another wonderful artist to catch. Just 2 weeks ago, she had her debut at the Festival de Jerez’s main theatre. I particularly enjoy watching her close-up though at tablaos because you get to feel the energy so close-up, at row 1 seats.
I also wanted to check the place out before participants of my Flamenco Culture Trip arrive next week 😃✈️🇪🇸 Coz tablaos are definitely on our itinerary and part of the flamenco cultural immersion I’d love them to have!
