If you want to dance ONE universal Spanish dance with anyone in the world, then this is it – the Sevillanas!
What does it feel like? Experience its vibrant energy and festivity.
Get to know Spanish culture. We dance the Sevillanas – a lot! – in Sevilla. In the largest outdoor party, the Feria de Abril where there is non-stop dancing, music, eating and drinking. But also at communal pilgrimages to El Rocio, in Huelva.
Leads up. But first, prep yourself that this dance has its challenges – coordination and rhythm, while working at having beautiful arms and posture! But no art is easy, and if you stick with it, the reward is all. yours – you’ll grow beyond your current self!
This class is suitable for higher beginners (new to Sevillanas) and those who already know the dance.
For those who have more experience, you can challenge yourself further with
a. Sevillanas with accessories (castanets, fan or manton)
b. Sevillanas Flamenca (where instead of the traditional style, you explore it with stronger flamenco flavour)

If you love beautiful elegant dances, and want to develop grace, posture and poise, then Spanish Dance is suitable for you.
Get to know some of Spain’s greatest classical music and express yourself with beauty & movement.
We will dance to the instrumental music played by an orchestra, piano or strings. This will sound different from flamenco, where we dance to flamenco song and guitar.
You will train to develop dance foundation and the style that characterises Spanish dance, as well as strengthen your rhythm & musicality.
This term, you will also learn extracts of Asturias – the famous music by Isaac Albéniz.
Above all, to discover and experience your own feelings, inspired by the music and movement.

If you want to further develop your flamenco style & technique, learn a choreography with the Spanish shawl (mantón), then this class is for you. We’ll be working on the palo of Caña.
But don’t be content with executing steps. You will learn to care for the quality of how you work at your movement, with personalised corrections. Also, explore developing your personal style and identify your strengths, with my guidance.
I prepare you to dance to live (spontaneous) cante & guitarra. So don’t limit yourself to the choreography, get insights into how to listen to the way flamenco can be spontaneously sung, so that you can go with the flow, and experience your own spontaneity!
I prepare you for Spain. Flamenco has a vibrant culture to explore and with more than 20 years experience in Seville, learning and being with my Spanish maestros, I am happy to bridge you inside the world of Flamenco!
